David Goode

David Allen Goode, 63, of Benton passed away August 14, 2012 as a result of a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm. He was born to Stella and Woodrow Goode in Pasadena, Texas on April 19, 1949. He married Claudia Jo James on August 8, 1969, and recently celebrated forty-three years of marriage. He was retired from Asbestos Workers (Insulators) Local #10 of Little Rock after thirty years of service and was also a business owner of Arkansas Best Insulation, Inc. Survived by his wife, Claudia Goode of Benton; sons Todd Goode and wife Rachael of Magnet Cove, Aaron Goode of Benton; and daughter Laura Hood and husband Cory of Benton; eight grand children, Cory, Cody, Tyler, Taylor, and John Garrett Goode, Cole Parris, Jordan Joseph, and Hadley Grace Hood; two great grand children, Presley Bledsoe, and Brayden Goode; two sisters, Barbara and Irv Slocum and Nancy and Jack Parker; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, brother and sister-in-laws, mother-in-law, and many friends. His hobbies included cooking, especially BBQ, as well as hunting, fishing, gardening, spending time with his friends at the "breakfast club", spending time with family and friends at his weekend place in Heber Springs, and spending time with the grand kids. He was a great husband, father, Papa, and friend. He was loved by so many and will be missed very dearly by all who knew him. He will be remembered for his fun loving personality, booming loud voice and boisterous laugh we all knew and loved.

Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday at Ashby Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Pine Crest Cemetery. Minister will be Bro. Kim Hammer.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Ashby’s.
